A sustainable aid model that aims to promote improved global surgical care through the use of community lead clinicians and an African Education Network

Our Mission

ANDO-modular-aid project is a sustainable model that aims to promote improved global surgical care through the use of community lead clinicians, ensuring that it is appropriate for not only the communities needs, but also the surrounding areas. The project is focussed on promoting up to date and first class surgical techniques, and instilling these in the reconstructive surgeons who work in Uganda to create an East African education network with the surrounding countries.

Building local capacity

The architectural concept translates the ANDO modularity into architectural space and makes it technically feasible. The basic module with 6.36 x 6.36 meters can accommodate different functions operating theatre, treatment rooms, administration spaces or staff rooms. Build of solid masonry and a concrete ceiling, this basic module is equipped with a wide cantilevered roof which creates all-round covered surfaces that can accommodate secondary functions such, as waiting areas storage rooms, kitchens or sanitary facilities.
